We discuss how Suzanne started her career back in the early days of the internet and her involvement in the<a class=\"\" href=\"http:\/\/ietf.org\/\">\u00a0Internet Engineering Task\u00a0 Force (IETF)<\/a>. Suzanne explains how the IETF as a large open and international community of network engineers, researchers and operators work together to define standards and ensure the continued evolution and operation of the internet architecture.\u00a0We talk about how the\u00a0<a class=\"\" href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Domain_Name_System\">Domain Name System<\/a>, the naming system for various resources on the internet was designed and what the consequences of those early design assumptions were. What were the lessons learned from previous\u00a0attempts to improve the user\u00a0experience by\u00a0tinkering with the DNS such as\u00a0<a class=\"\" href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Site_Finder\">SiteFinder<\/a>?\u00a0And are we set to repeat\u00a0some of\u00a0the same lessons learned with new developments such as\u00a0recursive resolvers.
