For example, Mark Zuckerberg is a vocal advocate whereas\u00a0<a class=\"\" href=\"https:\/\/www.theguardian.com\/technology\/2014\/oct\/27\/elon-musk-artificial-intelligence-ai-biggest-existential-threat\">Elon Musk believes with advances in AI we risk \u201csummoning a demon\u201d<\/a>. \u00a0Would we better or worse off in our pursuit of AI?\u00a0What would some of the world\u2019s leading experts say about our future with AI, and the consequences it may have on jobs, industries such as healthcare, and even our sense of agency? <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>To help us answer those questions, we sought out a\u00a0conversation with a leading researcher at\u00a0<a class=\"\" href=\"https:\/\/www.pewresearch.org\/\">Pew Research Center<\/a>.  Our guest in this podcast is\u00a0<a class=\"\" href=\"https:\/\/www.pewresearch.org\/staff\/lee-rainie\/\">Lee Rainie<\/a>. Lee\u00a0is\u00a0the director of<a class=\"\" href=\"https:\/\/www.pewresearch.org\/internet\/\">\u00a0internet and technology research at \u00a0Pew Research Center\u00a0<\/a>where he\u00a0looks at the social impact of the internet on\u00a0people\u2019s lives. Lee is a co-author of a report called\u00a0<a class=\"\" href=\"https:\/\/www.pewresearch.org\/internet\/2018\/12\/10\/artificial-intelligence-and-the-future-of-humans\/\">\u201cArtificial Intelligence and the Future of Humans\u201d<\/a>.\u00a0The report canvassed\u00a0979 technology pioneers, innovators, developers, business and policy leaders, researchers and activists to seek their\u00a0perspective on what positive or negative impacts \u00a0may have on human life by 2030. \u00a0Do these experts paint a future where AI will\u00a0transform our lives to be more productive and\u00a0efficient? Do they anticipate that AI will match or exceed\u00a0human intelligence and capabilities on complex tasks and\u00a0decision making?
