Collaboration and the globalized world
Guest: Maria Farrell
To what extent does the political climate and the favored geopolitical model du jour impact internet and technology development?
Many would argue globalization is either dead or in the early stage of demise as evidenced by the rise of nationalism, isolationist policies and frameworks such as Brexit. These isolationist or protectionist tendencies have manifested themselves as national censorship such as the great firewall of china, or threats to balkanize or fragment the internet technically or via government control. So, if the decline of globalization does impact internet and technology development, what are the consequences? And how should we greet them?
